    Cornwall Serial Number Question

I hope someone here can help me.

    I'm interested in a pair of Cornwalls - advertised as III's.  The serial numbers are 6N233 & 6N234.  Type = C-WO.

From what I've read about serial numbers, these would appear to be '75's.  Is this the case?  In photos, they have the "old" screw down terminals as well - do current Heritage speakers sport these?

thanks very much for any light you can shed on this -

    CP

No those are not Cornwall III's those are the original Cornwall and 1975 is correct.  The WO is a Walnut Oil finish.  New Heritage speakers have five way binding posts.

yeah, those would be 1975 Cornwall I's in oiled walnut.  Alot of people go to the klipsch website to learn about cornwalls when they go to sell and don't realize there have been three (four, more like) epochs of cornwalls.  III's don't have the screw downs high on the back, they have 4 five-way binding posts.

Those are definitely w/o 1975 speakers, same as mine.   Great year!

I saw those yesterday on eBay. Today they're "no longer for sale." Cornwall III in cherry! Yeah, right...

I'm just glad there are places like this to get er....educated.  Would have been a costly mistake.

thanks very much for the help,

Perhaps a mistake, perhaps not. I for one think the Cornwall is better than the Cornwall III. I didn't see the ones your were talking about, so I don't know.
