Anyone looking for an Academy speaker?

Hello fellow Klipsch owners,New to the forum, long time reader. I have been enjoying this hobby since 1986, you know, back when the enthusiast could show off his laserdisc collection. My laserdisc players are still used to this day. I have also owned since 1993, a pair of Forte II and a Clear Oak Academy speaker. I can no longer use the Academy speaker. It has been lovingly taken care of and it needs a new home. It does not fit in my new HD setup system. I still have the original box and manual. I am sad Sad to see it go but who better to appreciate this fine speaker then the people here at the Klipsch Community. Please PM me here at the forum or email me at hometheatergeek@comcast.net with your best offer. Hoping to get around $300 plus shipping costs. It can be shipped across country by FedEx ground for about $25.

Fair price for an awesome center speaker.  A pic will probably get this one sold today.

Welcome and good luck with the sale.

Re: Anyone looking for an Academy speaker?

    Greetings,

    Long time reader. New poster...

I've been looking for an Academy to match my Forte II's for a quite awhile now. I sent you an email earlier today.

Please respond here or drop me an email at Johnnyoz@aol.com if your speaker is still available.

If anyone else knows where I can get an Academy I would appreciate it if you could forward me the info. I am trying to find an Academy to replace a KG 2.2 center in my main listening room. I am not a reseller or professional collector. I am  just a vinyl audiophile trying to get that perfect nirvana.

    Thanks for listening,

    Johnny O

hahaha but really that table is priceless. It was one of those tarjhe specials.Cool

In order to afford nice toys you got to cut corners somewhere. Corners--tables--square no pun intended.

    erdric-

Long time, no hear!  Hope all is well with you.  Glad your Academy is still working out well.  I'm now in Colorado, moved here about 4 yrs ago.  We had some good listening sessions in CT for sure!

Hey there Rob!  Yeah, it's been a while since we talked.  I hope the move to Colorado was everything you hoped for.

Yes, the Academy has been great.  It was the last major upgrade to my system and I've enjoyed it a lot since I got it.  That renovation I mentioned a few years ago is currently planned for this coming summer and a complete overhaul of the HT system comes with it.  The speakers stay but the rest of it goes.

Re: Anyone looking for an Academy speaker?

    Jim-

Glad to hear all's well back east.  Colorado has been good.  Carlin was born soon after we moved out, and Mitchell turns 1 tomorrow.  I finished my Masters at the end of last year, and I'm involved in the program that will be building the next manned space vehicle for NASA, and my current work is directly in front of the NASA administrator, so it's been busy.  Haven't spent as much time with the HT as I'd like, but it's getting a bit better.  Looking forward to hearing about your renovation and what you'll be doing in terms of components.

Sounds very interesting, and a lot of work. Good luck! I'll probably post pictures of the renovation once it's complete. It's not as extensive as the original design but it gets me my dedicated room and new gear/furniture to go in it, which is all I care about. . . . Sorry for hijacking the thread guys.
