Well, I created an account just to weigh in on this. A year or so ago the DIN cable broke on my 2.1, and at the time Klipsch was out of replacement pods. They didn't know when they would be back in stock and the forums suggested it could be a while. I did notice Amy seemed to be helpful/honest/straightforward.
Unfortunately I can't say the same about the people who answer the phone when you call to order parts. After buying a flaky replacement pod from eBay, I couldn't take it and kept a close eye on the Klipsch store. After what seemed like months but was probably weeks, I called and was told "They'll be back in stock Feb. 26th" - so I call at 7 AM PST on the 26th, say "Do you have the 2.1 ProMedia replacement pods in stock?"
the woman on the line gave the slightest snicker and said "Yes, we have a few left."
"Can I order one then?"
"Sure, no problem"
I pay, and receive an e-mail invoice the same day. Everything seems good.
After I don't hear anything for several days, I call Klipsch to see if they have a tracking number or to see what is going on. I give the guy my invoice number, and he says:
"You know what? Honestly, those are out of stock. We'll have them back sometime in April"
"I checked before I ordered .... so you're saying you sold me something you didn't actually have?"
"Yes."
(shocked) "Well, then give me a refund."
"OK"
"Wait, so in theory would I be first in line when they are back in stock in April?"
"Oh yeah."
(skeptical) "Well, I guess just leave the order then. I'll figure out what to do."
So, what I did was buy a repaired pod from eBay user welshlady62, and I have high hopes, since this person has a great feedback rating.
What does this say about Klipsch? Is Amy an anomaly? I understand different people handle different aspects of the customer experience, so I suggest Klipsch take a serious look at the people working the phones. Really terrible. As soon as I get the unit I plan on canceling my order and hopefully never dealing with Klipsch again. Hot & cold product, at least one great employee (Amy), some very bad employees.
FYI.
