    Din Plug Faulty!

    Locked Reply Contact

Yes I have read all replies, all I have to say is I’ve been trying for 3+ months to get a hold of a replacement control pod. Your website is always stating “currently not in stock”, the demand is much greater then you admit when you can’t keep them in stock! If you search ebay there are bids for repairing the pods with an average price of $26 plus shipping in addition to bids for any working pods for as high as $45 plus shipping. Currently there is a bid in progress @ $31 plus $11 shipping with 4 more days to bid! I don’t have disposable income and am sick of all your candy-coated excuses! Just give me first crack at obtaining a replacement before I despise your company! You obviously have my email address but never once got any questions regarding my grievances. What happened to the good old days when you wrote a company your displeasure, they would send you a replacement/complimentary and or an apology & maybe a sincere statement of hoping to do future business with etc.

I will post again if I am unable to obtain a replacement with the next shipment due.

Will your company graciously contact me & state they have set one aside?

    I somehow doubt it,… we’ll see?

And why is the my original post locked from additional replies?

I have addressed this in other posts.  We have had some communication problems internally which has caused delays on getting many of our multimedia parts.   We are working on correcting this problem, and admit fault.

Please call our customer service directly about obtaining the part when it is available.  This is a peer-to-peer support forum, and no other customers can give you an informed answer on the status of our inventory.

You original post was locked because the topic had played out (class action lawsuit) and I was beginning to repeat myself to the same group of people.

It is fine to voice your dissent over a product, but false accusations and threats will not be tolerated on this forum.

    Thanks.

so a customer says he's been waiting 3 months for a replacement plug and all you can tell him is, "order one when they are in stock" rather than telling him that one will be set aside since he has been waiting for so long with no luck??? I'd love to tell my boss that...I'd get a swift kick in the butt and shown the door while explaining to me that it is not impossible to reserve something for a customer who has been waiting a long time for a replacement.

I can not believe that Klipsch's well established customer support division can't accomodate a special request for a special case now and then...as much as I love how these speakers sound, responses such as this make me very leery if something on mine breaks or degrades during the warranty period (oh wait, it was, right out of the box...crackling input jack but I don't think new satellite speakers are as hard to obtain). I hate to give up a speaker while I wait for a replacement but I know that's how warranty works usually, they sound too good :D

Holy smokes Amy, You’re either insane or a brainwashed miss know it all? Talk is cheap (you repeat yourself over  & over, if your tired of repeating fine! then really address the problems =ACTION!) then new forum lurkers won't have to make the same comments. I waited 2 month before I want to give up my info to join and post. Alot of people probably don't either till they realize their out $149 but the truth is their out $149 + (ex.) $200 for something better equalling (roughly depending on personal choice/brand) $350. That's a big OUCH! when you don't have disposable income, which these particular speakers were marketed.

Where did this come from? Left Field?  "false accusations and threats will not be tolerated on this forum", Can you quote or name the exact person that did this?

And another quote "no other customers can give you an informed answer on the status of our inventory", what are you talking about? Your website STATES "Currently Not Available".!

One last thing regarding the locked forum aka censorship, customer should be allowed to post on a topic for it could easily stand for kudos, just because someone wants to reply to "My" post doesn't mean you have to address or butt in at all. Did some one say peer-to-peer? Your a REP and not a very good one!

Amy's Disclaimer: Peer-to-Peer only if you pick a kudos comment or otherwise it's all the time Rep-to-Peer talk down to you kind of vibe! Class  dismissed?

I read your post a couple of times (wishful thinking) to see was their any sort of Apology?

    Hello,

    1.  I'm a fan of Klipsch products, in fact, I just purchased the iGroove HG for my parents a couple of weeks ago... and have been shopping for a 5.1 home theater system  to compliment my new Samsung LCD tv (so far I've heard the Quintet III/sub10 and KEF's 3005, but haven't been able to locate any retail stores that have any of the Cinema 6, 8 or 10's or similar products in Orange County So. Cal.
    Q-1...........................Any suggestions??

    2.  I just purchased a control pod replacement a few months ago  (sounds like I got lucky and was able to have ordered at the right time...) and just began to enjoy my ProMedia 2.1 once again after more than a year of silence. Now that I think of it, this was probably the trigger (besides the  new TV) that sent me on this shopping mission.   Unfortunately, my new DIN plug fell apart in the same fashion as the original, after only a week of use.   I understand that this plug has been through some testing which have demonstated no faults by one of your posts, but here's my two-cents on a possible cause and solution.

------------------------Besides the obvious need for a recessed space for the current DIN to rest without being pushed or bumped,  perhaps instead, an L-shaped DIN plug with a larger area, say 1x1inch square or 1inch diameter round,  to act as a stopper to prevent stress being placed at the junction where the metal and plastic/rubber parts of the plug join (and consequently, become separated).  Material that is more resistant to the amplifier's heat may be another need.  I think the plug tips are possibly becoming softened by the amp's heat, making them more susceptible to the subtle bumps and movements from normal wear and tear. Maybe, some the tests done on the plug were done without the heat of the amp being a factor.  Just an idea.  I don't like to complain about the need for change without contributing toward possible solutions.

Q-2........................Can you inform me/clarify on how to obtain a replacement and if I need to send the damaged product back?....I would like to try and repair the plug while waiting for the product to become available, but do not want the fault to be shifted from workmanship being unable to withstand normal wear and tear-------> to customer mutilation of DIN plug/cable by self repair....since a repaired cable would be less likely to sound as clean as the factory version, despite using good technique.

I am fairly new to this forum, but have seen the DIN diagram, and some postings by customers that were having trouble obtaining another control pod/cable and you have probably already answered this somewhere.

If I interpret Amy's posts, the repacement pod also has a 1 year warrenty and can be returned. You should confirm this, though. Not perfect, but it is an alternative.

The subject line of this thread is a false accusation, and your suggestion for class action lawsuit is a threat.

Censorship would be deleting your post, not locking a thread on a subject that does not need to be discussed here (ie, class action lawsuit).

This is not a publically owned forum, this is a Klipsch forum.  You follow our rules or you will be asked to leave.  Same rules apply for any privately own business.

I allow people to voice their dissent whenever they like.  I do not edit, delete, or lock threads when they are reasonable, non-accusatory, and non-threatening.

Now you have insulted me, so you are being asked to leave.

I have apologized for the wait before.  I'm sorry you missed it.

Once again, I encourage you to speak with customer service.  888-554-5665.

    Take care.
