    KSW10 input question

My Quintet KSW10 has stopped working from the LFE input.  Then I connected it through the "speaker in" inputs, it worked fine and after a week or so that quit, too.

Then I temporarily hooked up the line-out speaker connections on another receiver to the LFE input and the sub seems to like that.  The bass sounded muddy, but that might have been the amp.  So my quesiton is this:  Am I going to hurt this thing by connecting the line-out-to-speakers outputs on the Hone Theater  amp directly to the L/LFE inputs on the sub?  Or is the impedance all wrong and it will sound awful no matter what?

Failing that, is there a way I can get the schematic so I can have our local electronics guy bypass the auto-on feature and wire the inputs directly to the crossovers/bass driver?  This was a pricey unit and worked like a charm . . . for a while.  I'd hate to just have to add it to my dead electronics stack in the basement!   [:'(]

     Thanks for any help here!

Re: Thanks for all the input!

I'm blown away.  Some of these posted pleas for help get dozens of way-cool replies, most get at least some.  This one has been up for some time now and has none.  Wassup with that?  Do I have bad cyber-breath or something?

Well, fret not, I managed a fix and for anyone interested (since there are quite a few posts here about KSW 10 and 12 subs with auto-on issues and no difiniteiv answers), I sent the amp back to Kilpsch and they're going to do a reurb to as-new and then ship it back to me, all for $60.  Problem solved.

    Aloha from Hawaii!
