I think Scrappydue pic's are in a Klipsch custom showroom, lol.

I get the feeling that which is better of the top tier speakers depends on what gear it is paired with, listening preference and the room. I don't think there is a clear winner.

A Dark Truth: An excellent movie!!! Forrest Whitaker and Kim Coates also star in this movie. 4 out of 5 stars. A former CIA operative-turned-political talk show host (Andy Garcia) is hired by a corporate whistle-blower (Eva Longoria) to expose her company's cover up of a massacre in a South American village. Starring: Andy Garcia, Eva Longoria

A xo of 80 sounds best for the OP. Anything lower is going in the wrong direction. reference_head is giving good advice on getting a sub. For right now I would leave the front and center set to large.

Dredd, Avengers and Total Recall are some of my favorite recent movies.

That is a tough question. It is like which car do you like, the Mecedes, BMW or the Lexus. They are all great speakers and most of us would be happy with a system built around any of those 3 speakers. The RC 64 is a match for the RF 83/63 due to the 1.25 in tweeter. The newer version RC 64II tweeter is larger.

Premium Rush: a decent movie worth a rental. Most of the action takes place on the streets of New York. A biker package delivery person is chased by bad guys. Great panning that will have you hearing sounds from every speaker.

I am surprised that the avr at -6 is causing the speakers to blow.MCACC will usually calibrate everything so that it is safe to go to 0 on the avr. Are the bookshelf speakers set to large and what is the xo? The easy answer to your question is not to play things that loud.
If you have both then give them each a test drive
Try the speakers out since it is easy to return them to the store. The Reference speaker has a better resale value but if the F 20 is like my Icon VF 35's they sound better than a smaller bookself IMO. DO match the front 3. I had the VC 25 and it was a great center. I never had problem with the dialogue. For a short time I ran it with my Rf 7's and it was fine.

Emotiva makes some nice looking products. The XPR at 400 watts is a lot of power , way more than most people will ever use.
