• Re: What are you driving right now

I'm driving two things: a Dark Blue, 2005 Ford Freestyle Limited (48,000) and my wife crazy. lol The Freestyle is on its second set of Pirelli P7s. Verna drives a Laser Red, 1996 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra with only 29.000 miles. That's her "baby". Went through 2 sets of BFG Gatorbacks due to tread separation and no, BFG would not waranty them. Using Pirelli's now. Ms. Rose drives a Liquid Gray, 2002 Ford Focus ZX3 (12,000) (original tires, replaced fuel pump) and at 90 years old

  • Re: It's official: As of December 31st, I am laid off. "Crappy New Year!"

Gosh, you all are so wonderful. Thanks so much for your kind words of encouragement and hope. I'm actually doing okay. I never thought I'd be able to sleep but I think having been well-prepared mentally for this before hand is a huge asset. I thank my manager for the early warning some time ago that this was coming. I know what you mea n when you say it's better than not knowing until it happens. S o many of my fri e nds found out that way (last-minute) over the p ast few years. It's

  • It's official: As of December 31st, I am laid off. "Crappy New Year!"

Just got the paperwork this morning. At least it's good to have a date. A lot of my good friends weren't so lucky; they found out as it was happening. I can't afford to retire yet, so I will look for something else. We've know this was coming for a long time. I feel I was lucky to last as long as I did there. My boss will be gone, too. It's too bad because I love my job and the folks I've been working with. All things must pass, I suppose. - Glenn

June is sounding good. It all depends on my job and whether I still have one by then. - Glenn
Glen, Haven't you heard? The recession is over! Seriously though, as a fellow Michiganian, I feel your pain. I had my hours cut several months ago. It sucks! Hope to see you in Indy! Bob
Thanks, Bob. I'm supposed to get the ax at year's end. "Merry Christmas: You're FIRED!". {ugh...} "New Year

  • Re: Would you ship internationally?

Just trying to ship a few bulk speaker parts to Canada about a year ago via UPS and FedEx gave me fits. UPS pretty much laughed me out of their office and I had to go back to the FedEx office 4 times before we had any success. International shipments are treated very different from domestic and the customs declarations can be a major pain in the arse. Be certain you aren't the one who gets stuck paying the duties on items. Those should be paid by the recipient. Best of luck. -Glenn
