  • Re: Juicy Music Blueberry Preamp Impression

I think I can read between the lines of Neo's review here. I happen to dislike the RCA connector design on the BB and I had one break early on. I think this was Mark's way of trying to cut costs on parts that have little or no impact on sound so he could give the best bang for the buck. Still, I would have made sure it was a more rugged. I personally disliked the fruit of the loom look of the original version which is why I upgraded. What the BB does very well (and this review nails it IMO

Whoa! I didn't say anything about your wiring problems! If it wasn't built right, you should send it back. That's just crappy QA!! All I said is the BB is very tube sensitive and the RCA connectors suck. Maybe I need to re-read your post. It took me MONTHS to find the right tubes. If I hadn't, I never would have been happy with the unit. If you bought it with a statement that the tubes included were the cat's meow, they should be. If not, send it back! My experience combined with

  • Re: Eico HF-87 and HF-85 - NOS Valved

One is an amp and the other is the matching preamp. It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Plus, they are a matching set. Very cool. Dhar - You should post pics.

  • Re: Can I date my Cornwalls by serial number?

Welcome to the forum. 1980 was a great year for Cornwalls! Update the crossovers. You can get them back to spec or spend some dough and improve the performance. BEC on the forum here will get you back to spec for a very reasonable cost. DeanG's Super B's will improve the performance but you'll have to open your wallet a bit.

I'm driving a '99 Acura TL with 230K miles. Every sensor and idiot light stays on but it rides like new.

  • Re: Pair of Belles FOR SALE - DFW Area

What Frzninvt said. I bought a mint pair of '98 Belles earlier this year for $1800. The economy ain't what it once was. You might be better off paying someone to reveneer if you can find someone to do it cheap before selling. Good luck.

  • Re: It's official: As of December 31st, I am laid off. "Crappy New Year!"

I'm sorry to hear the news Glenn. Its been almost 4 months now since I last made the commute to work after 23 years with the same company. The job search has been slow but things seem to be picking up. After no calls for over a month, I got 5 in two days last week. I hope one of them works out. The waiting is torture. My advice is to begin networking if you haven't already. Get on LinkedIn and have some of your co-workers recommend you. You can help each other. Get help with your resume if

  • Re: RSW-15 for HT application as well as 2CH?

I never owned an SVS (heard a few) but I've had a couple RSW12s and now a cherry RSW15. You are certainly correct about placement. It makes a HUGE difference when the sub is in the corner. Even placement within the corner makes a difference. I have built-in cabinets with doors on the right wall and I have my passive about a foot from the door. Having that hollow cabinet behind the door seems to improve the rumble factor. I rarely use the sub with music since I have Cornwalls in that room but

  • Re: Have KG4s, looking for more sound, Cornwalls or La Scalas?

I had Corns at my beach house then replaced them with Belles (similar to Lascalas) since I already had Corns at home. At first I was majorly disappointed. Was kicking myself for giving up the Corns with their great bass punch and crisp lower mids. I added a sub and began to like the Belles a lot. They were really growing on me. A couple months later, a good deal on Corns came my way so I sold the Belles and replaced them with Corns. Came full circle. As soon as I dropped the needle on a my first

  • Re: Just got some Belle's

I am still upset with myself for getting rid of my '98s. What a dumbass move that was. Enjoy. They are great speakers and someday you will have them looking sharp too. Edit: As far as the center image comments.......My Cornwalls and Khorns image every bit as well as the Belles did. It shouldn't have much to do with the speaker itself. It's all in the placement. As long as your equipment is sending a balanced stereo signal to your speakers, you should always get a great center image. Maybe
