"So far thing did not go well for the Blueberry: labeling misaligned, annoying static noise, too long of a delay between "Standby" and "Play" and reverse wiring of left and right channels.." OOps, I forgot the part where you didn't like the wood case, either. Wow, looks like you are sharpening the axe blade a little here. The static and tube rush are due to the tubes -not Mark's build or design - and thus are capable of being eliminated by the owner at first

In one of life's donk moments, plan on spending twice what you buy a tube amp to get it up and running properly. If you go cheap initially, you probably will end up spending more than if you buy a restored, working unit. A unit restored by Craig - NOSValves - is the gold standard in many tube circles. There are a couple other one man shops that are also quite good. The Scotts, Fishers, Pilot, Sherwood and Heathkit lines all offer good to great models for folks starting out that can provide years

Gregg, I am still looking. The closest ones I have seen are in Detroit, and they are banged up pretty bad. The prettiest console I have seen is a gorgeous one in Washington DC. Gearfreek, I'm in St. Louis, and the shipping cost vs. quality would put you under - unless you got them incidental to passing through St. Louis.

A display and staging company is having their annual auction, and has a set of KHorns with a missing tophat. This is an opportunity for someone local to pick up a set for $200, source a top hat section and drivers/crossover, and be running. We all know how to fin another tophat! It starts at 11 am. http://www.auctionzip.com/cgi-bin/auctionview.cgi?lid=683714&kwd=klipsch&zip=63125&category=0

Sometimes I would agree, Bill, but this is half an hour out, they are big, most people don't have room, many people want new, these may be a little scratched, and they are missing one complete top hat. All this will lead to only one or two people bidding. I generally see these situations lead to the first and only bidder win them for the opening bid, or the second repeat bid if two go after them. At an auction, I normally hold my hand until the house shills and bottom bidders are done, unless
