• Re: Bridging amps...???

I agree with Art about the specifications...... I bridge two Lux M-117's. The manual states: Stereo 200wpc into 8ohms @ 0.003% THD and BTL Bridged 700wpc into 8ohms @ 0.006% THD I have gone back and forth, back and forth many times. I can not hear any increase in distortion, let alone double. I have done this for a few forum members and my painfully critical golden-ear wife. (If I change a tube, she asks "what is different"?) What I do hear is exceptional LF control. The mid's and

I find that to be quite disorientating.
That's why some AV experts recommend placing the main speakers fairly close to the TV, so that the width of the soundstage approximates the
My wife doesn't mind me listening at loud volumes. It means she can hear while she's in the kitchen.
Same here. She doesn't mind loud volumes as well. My wife likes to hear music over the chain saw when she is outside cutting firewood. tc
My son stopped by the house this afternoon for his usual Saturday afternoon "I need some $$"... err... Chat... While talking to him I mentioned that I'd come to a decison about some changes to the living room 5.1 system versus the 2 channel system. Very much in passing I said "yea.. I'll be posting the Heresys on Craigslist soon. He perks up a bit and tells me that one of his coworkers is looking for a nice pair of Heresys. He calls him and about
Early on in my business dealings, I was laughed at and ridiculed for suggesting that my customers NOT build their house underground. I suggested building above ground on a monolithic insulated slab foundation, and I've built over 75 homes on this type of foundation here in Maine over the last 20 years. I hardly ever get laughed at these days, I guess attitudes have changed. I feel bad for people dealing with leaky basements, water is a very tricky thing to

  • Re: Colin's Palladium review

Colin, Great stuff from you as always. I had the opportunity to listen to the Palladiums A/B with a K402/Jubilee. I find it unfair to compare two speakers with such dissimilar footprints, but I was pleasantly surprised with the Palladium. The designers did their homework on the LF for sure. All of the typical reflex bloom/boom was under control and very polite at volume. The little Trax mid horn was very nice. Good WAF. (if she has money) tc
