  • Re: More V-Trac Khorn upgrades

Hey Chris, I think that the tweeters Greg recomends and likes are better than the k-77 but, I happen to think that by moving the tweeters to the outside of the tophat you are able to hear it better. In my system the k-77 sounds alot better on the outside vs when it was directly over the mid horn. I just like what I am hearing now the way it is set up. Maybe in the future I'll try something else but, I'm good for now. Jay

[quote user="merkin"] I have a PC not a Mac. The Ipod is a 80 gig Ipod. I also have an old dell DJ that I use for my boat that has 40 gig I think. The size on the I pod doesn't concern me that much since I just use it for the car instead of hauling CD's. I don't want much compression since I will be playing it through my squeeze box on my system also. Will the applelossless give CD quality sound? Is Wav better than lossless? Will wav work with the Ipod? Could I rip them in a

  • Re: Forte II crossover

[quote user="egronenthal"] Forgive my ignorance, I haven't had much time to research this on the forum... I have a pair of Klipsch Forte II speakers, purchased new in 1991. I've heard many things about upgrading the factory crossover or even building and installing a new crossover myself. What is the latest poop on this? Can someone direct me to the proper resource? • Funniest Thing I Think I Have Ever Heard!!!

Earlier tonight the wife and I were at Best Buy to get some computer related stuff, after which I turned to the little very young saleperson helping us; and said where are your record??? He looked at me with an oddball look, and said records!!! you mean the BigCD's !!! I thought I would die from laughing so hard. BigCD's I promptly asked when were you born in the 90's??? He said yes as a matter of fact LOL!!! When I went to checkout the young girl there had a similar problem with not

  • Re: Swapping a K-77 with Bob Crites CT-125

Well here is my expirence as of late, I installed Greg's V-trac's with the BMS drivers and kept my k-77's tweeters instead of opting for the Beyma's or others. What I have found is that I now here my tweeter much more than I did when it was mounted above the k-400 horn. Seems like with the k-77 mounted on the side instead of the center, I am hearing it better with good results. I was all ready to try the Crites tweeter as well as the APT 200, but the k-77 is sounding really good so

  • Re: Khorns orig 1987, Amp selection, Sophia Electric or Pass Labs F5 Amp

Well to start with it is not a stereo amp, it has dual mono amps built into one chassis. Second at the time when I bought it Sophia did not offer mono blocks, and lastly I would have needed an extra plug, cable, and shelf. Jay
