I always get suspicious when a seller posts a picture of a brand new Heresy-III, quotes the retail price and and then "explains" that what's for sale is 25 years old and allegedly in good condition......

Welcome to the Forum. In the "setup mode" for your receiver, is there a selection to make the amp "remember" the last volume level for the various inputs? Many of the newer AV receivers have that, but it's often not "clear" in the instructions or on the screen menus unless you know what you are looking for.

That's why I finally got rid of my last Thorens years ago. If it was not one problem, it was another. LOLOL!!! They are very good, but it seemed like every year or two it was something else; belt, motor not spinning up to speed within a reasonable length of time, parts and competent technician availability, etc. If you want to see if the "drift" is too fast or too slow, take a small 1" paint brush and put the bristles up against against the platter. Look at which way the dots go

Total investment: ~$750, but it will last forever (or at least as long as I can find reel tapes LOLOL)
I have a pair of K-400s and I very much disagree. When the mouth of the K-400 is NOT mounted to a motorboard, it rings like a church bell. Mounted, it still rings, but not much. Wrapping the K-400 in some damping material makes a noticible difference in the edginess of the upper mids. The composite horns also ring a bit, reportedly.
Interesting! It also appears that some metals do and some do not (or at least to the point where it's an audible effect

Seti: It's a royal pain to get black lacquer (or any paint for that matter...) off completely. Usually by the time you even get close, you are sanding well into and past the veneer. The easy way would really be to get a sheet of veneer from joewoodworker.com and after a good sanding for the glue to adhere, just refinish them. It's a fairly easy process, particularly with Heresy's. Take a look at: http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/109693.aspx

dtel, you are gonna get in trouble...... Work - Office owned 2003 Dodge 2500 diesel (100k on it and it's just about broken in...) Home - Personal owned 2005 F250, 4x4, diesel, monkey doo-doo brown, about 40k and it's not "broken in" yet. Gotta' have it because of the gooseneck horse trailer, feed, etc. Still owe the family fortune on the da*n thing. It was very expensive, but it absolutely will go where no other truck will go during the hurricane season without getting stuck

Keep the image less than 40k or it may not load.

Are we going to see AMD lay off folks (now that they won't make their own x86's), and outsource the manufacture to some third world country that does not use the same product standard? That would be a general consumer (and employee) concern.
