• Re: Help: Can't decide which of my receivers to use in the HT

Do not let the power rating fool you. My HK with 65 watts will out perform the Yamaha rated at 100 watts. I believe Onkyo is one of the worst when it comes to power rating.

If you have the opportunity to try both set up then you should Let us know what you decided. The reason I said if you are using standard DVD is because in a 7.1 digital signal the 2 back channels are not real channels. All they are is the 2 side signals mix together then split in 2 with each signal sent to each back speakers, unless you have a 6.1 movie such as gladiator but they are so few it is not even worth mentioning. This is to create a fuller sound for large rooms but if you are seating to
I might be tempted to pick it up anyways and scout out some deals on some matching Reference speakers for a future upgrade of your front soundstage.
or you can do that. Once you started you can't stop, it is madness.

For what it is worth I would stick with the c 3 for your system but at this price you just can't pass it up. Get it, try it out and if you do not like it get the C 3 from vanns for $ 169 link You will not have any problems to resale the speakers and even make some money in the process if you wanted to. If you were not going to keep it It would be nice if you would pass the deal on to a forum member but it is your decision.
