  • Re: 7.1 and Emotiva....

I have an MPS-1 and I love it. I have owned a DMR-1 reciever and the MPS-1. The quality, value and customer service at Emotiva is exceptional. Enjoy your new amp!

  • Re: dolby trueHD and DTS master audio

I agree. The lossless codecs create an enveloping feel that is very natural. You pick up more detail and feel as though you are in the scene. I also find that the big bang scenes in movies are not as boomy. They seem much more natural and believable. I have really enjoyed the HD codecs.

  • Re: WF-35, WC-24

Reference series is hard to beat for clean power. I installed a WF/WC/WS system in my sisters very small living room last Christmas with a small subwoofer. For that application, it was a great system. Very nice sound and very clean fit. Is there a reason you do not have a subwoofer?

  • Re: Affordable acoustically transparent pull-down screen?

I agree with Bill. I have a 103" AT electric retractable screen from Chris Seymour. His screens have an accoustically transparent black backing that eliminates any glare behind it. I had a portable pull up screen that I used in front of my TV for about a year and finally broke down and installed a SeymourAV screen. It is a very nice product. When I was first looking, I could not find an AT screen in a pull down.

  • Re: RC-62 good match?

I had a smaller reference system and sold some RS-25's. They did a good job with the system, but I would look at the new generation surrounds. Try to find a pair of RS-52's or better yet RS-62's. I would also go for the center channel. As for the rears, look for RB-35's or RB-51's. Your surrounds should envelope the sound field and your rear speakers should radiate toward your seating area. All of this is predicated on the assumption that you, like most of us, will upgrade again

  • Re: Wall mounting RB-81's?

I use these B-Tech's to mount my RB-35's. They work very well.

  • Re: RB-35's question

I use RB-35's for rear with my RF7's and RC7. I also use the Btech mounts and they work great. I highly recommend the RS-62's as they complement my 7's very well. I think you will be very happy with them. Enjoy!

  • Re: What display are you using?

Looking at your picture with the tape on the wall, you can visualize why I have basically quit watching my TV in the theater room. My room is 17 X 27 X 9 and a 61" TV does not fill it up like a 96" PJ screen. Prices on projectors are falling fast. If you wait until after the holiday rush, you may find some really good deals. There are a lot of new models being released for the holidays and I think some very good projectors will have big price cuts. Good Luck in your search,

  • Re: Train travel to Hope

Actually it was the remnants of Ike. There was a lot of flooding and high winds had caused some debris on the tracks. I rented a car and drove from Indy. When I got to Merrillville, they diverted me onto 30 west to 157 because 80/94 was closed due to flooding. A very long trip in bumper to bumper traffic with a lot of big rigs.

  • Re: Train travel to Hope

I would be very interested in this train trip. I had a business meeting in Chicago last month and book with Amtrak ($33 round trip from Indy). My train was cancelled when hurricane Ike hit Chicago. Now I ask you, who would have thought a hurricane would hit Chicago. Anyway, I think it would be a fun trip if we had a group on board.
