There is no comparison between the Monitor Audio GS 10 and a Klipsch LaScala. The monito Audio is a 61/2" bookshelf. The LaScalas are 15" three way horn loaded speakers that will provide you with a tremendous aural and tactile sensation when listening to music or movies. I don't thinkk your room would be a problem except for the physical size of the LaScalas. In addition the LaScalas can do all of that with as little as 3 Watts RMS. Now the Magnepans are again a different type of speaker

For What it's Worth. I am not doing HT. However, I had a Marantz receiver and I thought it was a little bright with my LaScalas. I changed to a Harmon Kardon and the brightness was gone.

With 99db efficiency the 30 watt marantz should drive the Forte ll's to beyond max. If the Marantz is in good shape electronically it will be clean and pwerful sounding. If I remember correctly this how the db's and wattage should theoretically play out! 99db@1 watt 102db@2 watts 105db@4watts 108db@8 watts Hope this helps answer your question. Robert
