• Re: Need Acurus Acd-11 CD Remote
Thanks so much for the codes and the info. Now, with the codes, I can use any universal. I appreciate that. Still would like to find an origianl remote, but this will work for now. Many Thanks
Those codes, have to try each, will only work with the SL-8000 remote or some of the others from that company

  • Re: Quintet II and muffled sound

Muffled suggsts the tweeter are gone, call our parts dept at 800-554-7724 ext 1048 8 am to 5 pm eastern. To double check, take the grill off, then the 4 screws you find in the grill pin holes on the cabinet. With a battery, like one out of a remote...disconnect leads to the tweeter, it will only make a scratchy type sound if good. Typically the network would be fine, but if you hear a sound from the tweeter, it is the network. The tweeter is a replaceable part, but I would take the speaker apart

What is the s/n? If the tag is still on the back, what is listed other than the number? If the tag is gone and the back comes off, look right above the top center screw, the s/n was stamped into the raw edge of the plywood.....what is the letter?

You may want to check with the following Indy Audio Labs, LLC http://www.indyaudiolabs.com main: +1 (866) 559-5113 office, mobile: 317-542-3146 This link is for a remote that could be used with some Mondial units, I do not recall if the codes would work with the ACD-11 http://www.universalremote.com/product_detail.php?model=57 Here are the codes listed for Mondial in the OM with the remote, not sure which one works, I do not have that info 157 158 042 043 081 112 Check with Indy Audio Labs
***! You guys are fast! The serial #'s look like 244668 & 9. But the 4's also look like they could be U's. They have CWO handwritten on the tag. I thought these were II's? No? I'll check the link you guys provided. I love that I can actually read the legible signatures of my inspector (Bill Gibson), and my tester (N.W.Bradford).
Do the backs come off? I's.....if the backs are fixed, can not remove...II's The 4 being a U?
The backs are screwed on, so I guess they're 1980 I's. Any thoughts on crossover maintenance? The caps are about 30 years old at this point, & I know some changes were made to the crossover design shortly after these were made. Do owners generally consider those changes to have been an improvement, or is there dissent?
Send me an email, a bit easier to address and offer thoughts on what you are asking, use the link for email

start in a corner, with the tip of a pocket knife into the grill holes and against the cabinet edging with the blade....work your way around untill the grill comes off. Like a paint can lid
