• Re: i-Fi volume control malfunction

Is there no simple data reader for this type serial bus? Ok, I just realized how stupid that sounds. No databus reader is so simple you can pick one up at Wallmart. It's just 16 ones and zeros in a row. Many never used (always zero) Can it be that hard to read/inject? Where are the electronic guru’s?

  • Re: IFI and universal remote

I don't know if there are codes available for this, or if a universal can be programmed at all. They use an RF signal, not infrared. Is your remote RF capable? I guess you would need a functional one for learning. Then there is the whole syncing thing. Replacements are still listed on Klipsch's Canada site. http://www.klipschcanada.com/product/1000400 edit: whoa. Did it just dissapear from the Canada site? It was there a second ago.

  • Re: Bought new set of Ifi's for €159,- How do I tilt (?)

They pivot on the chrome ball. The small chrome screw forward of the ball can be threaded up or down and park in the slot on the speaker. There is an allen wrench clipped inside the base (lift it and look inside) and you can adjust the screw thru the bottom. I just twisted the exposed part of the screw with my fingers typically, but if you want to use tools, they came packaged.:)

  • Re: ifi dock problems....

Replacement docks are currently available. They have been in and out (mostly out) for the last couple years. http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/ifi-dock-assembly.aspx If you get one, or if anyone reading this has a replacement and it’s been working for some time I’d like to know. My replacement dock I purchased a couple years ago failed in like two months, and I just cant bring myself to try yet another without some success stories. I keep hoping they have made some improvement to

The microcontroller on the dock that is used to send the data to the LM1973 in the sub appears to be a 32 pin MC68HC908JL8CFA. M68HC08 Datasheet

  • Re: i-Fi volume control malfunction

I am excited to have you show up here Todd. I ordered a replacement dock when they became available a year ago or so. It worked fine for about a month and then had the exact same failure. They have been unavailable again until just recently. Because I tried that once already I am not too anxious to try yet another without knowing this batch is somehow different from the others. But.. the replacement dock did work for a short while. That must mean something. This volume controller IC in the amp doesn’t

    Hi Todd
hi there - new here, and yes, I have a iFi that is having the same problems with the iPod dock/volume. I think many have been asking the wrong questions here for some time. The issue is, what specifically is causing the problem and what can users do to rectify that problem. It's no benefit to speculate on whether or not Klipsh knows about it or has parts, or whether this part of that is the culprit, etc., in my opinion.
At this point I couldn’t

  • Re: i-Fi volume control malfunction

I can assure you that Klipsch engineers have viewed this forum from the beginning. The continued silence is deafening. Is it hardware in the dock, or in the amp? Is it hardware or software? Is it related to prolonged muteing? I got an email today informing me that the docks are available for purchase. Should I try one more? They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. If these were not awesome speakers I would have tossed them out and

  • Re: Who has the jamo dock (using it on the IFI) and what do you think?

Interesting.. Does it work out of the box? Same connector and everything? They look too similar. Especially the remote. Ah, wait, jamo = © 2009 Klipsch Group, Inc i300 is discontinued also. Let us know if it continues to function as an iFi controller.

Sad to say you are probably out of luck. I sure wish I had some idea what the culprit was so I had some idea if there was any way possible to make them work just as computer speakers. I tried replacing the rotary encoder on one of my docks but it still did the same thing.
