I have never understood why Klipsch discontinued the Forte II and Quartet, both of these speaker have all the power, emotion and clarity Klipsch are famous for. I had Heresy II's and got the Forte II's in trade, the F II's needed some cabinet refinishing, when that was done, I ended up with a really room filling experience. The large midrange horn and powerfull bass line are truly incredible. I was my impression was that the Quartet and Forte II were at price points below the Cornwall

After listening to the new Icon series at BestBuy yesterday, I really must register my dissapointment with them. Sure they have high output, although not relative to my Heritage series stuff. I bought a sub-10 to go along with the HIII's in my little room, the sub-10 carries everything below 58 HZ and it really adds more of a spatial quality and a little more physical sensation. Yesterday I heard the Icon series, the WF-35's and they had a rather harsh sound, one I don't get from my heritage

I want another RF/RC system, 52 or 62 series, could consider swap for HII's converted to HIII's (HWo with risers)

Dell has a blu-ray rewriter, not listed on the web page for 199.99, couple this with a good sound card (Soundblaster X-Fi at the low end) and a digital IO module ($20.00 from vreative) and you have a complete digital media system. Along with my Yamaha RX-V361 receiver this whole thing totally kicks and the beauty is that for a few dollars more I have a Linux machine (Ubuntu 7.1) running SAMBA that stores 1.25 TB of digital entertainment.

I find the K-28 to be a bit cleaner than the K-24. I bought the upgrade kit, HII->HIII and the improvement is really noticable, it was worth $27 a side, the cabs are great and in spite of the gf's protests, they will get another 20+ years.... The whole package including the K-57, K-103 and the new crossover really gave them a new life, although as HII's they shared no peer to any speaker of their size and price. The new titanium drivers really do wonders as doesthe increaed magnet size

I like option 4, everything matches sonically, in every detail. Option 2 is also pretty cool, but I was never a big Cornwall fan. I just inherited a pair of 1962 Khorns and a 1962 Heresy center, not the great match it was designed to be, the other problem is that the corners are 30' apart. How about 2 KHorns and a La Scala II center. "In for a penny, in for a pound"

Personally, and this is my opinion and invalid for all but me, but I think the best music to test speakers is the stuff you listen to all the time. In my case, I use the Dropkick Murphy's "Shipping off to Boston" or AC/DC, hells bells or something of that nature, and then I listen to the sound coming from one of the first three Star Wars movies. The sound of the craft alone is beautiful, for me the ability to hear the shape of something is what separates Klipsch stuff apart from the

With the new titanium drivers in the HIII's I have no need for super tweeters, I get a real well balanced, abundance of high frequency information. Recently I inherited a pair of 1962 kHorns, they too have a sparkling high end. Geez, I like these speakers...

I'm more of a "True Romance", "Pulp Fiction kind of guy. ALthough I do the new Star Wars trilogy on occasion and I do game. I bought an LG Blu-Ray burner through newegg.com and my slysoft software has no problem handling it. My TV isn't HD, I'm holding out for another year. I may buy another LG Blu-ray burner for the Linux machine, but the drivers may be lacking for it. I guess I hanging on for Windoze 7.

The PS3 ia a great idea, good graphics processor and priced relative to my Blu-Ray drive which is Writeable, so I can make archive copies of my new BD's or just rip the movie part into an avi, and put several avi files on a BD disk. Sure I'd love a PS3, but I am starting to develop an addiciton to PC based games, I don't need another gaming console.
