So I am building a subwoofer and will be using the Oaudio 500 watt plate amplifier. http://www.oaudio.com/500W_SUBAMP.html I will not be mounting it to the subwoofer box, but want to place it in its own cabinet and sit it on my audio rack. Does anyone have pictures of the cabinet that they made for their plate amplifier? My initial thought was to make a black wood cabinet with some passive cooling vents low on the sides near the front of the cabinet for air intake then have other vents on the top

The issues with some of the plate amplifiers are that they have a built in subsonic filter that you have to bypass if you want to go below the set point. The Oaudio aplifier was tested on AVSforums and it is was deemed one of the best buys as far as dollar for watt with more features than almost any other plate amplifier within the same price range.

GO66 I noticed that your surround speakers are aimed towards your fireplace, what made you decide to aim them so far away from the listener? Just curious to see what your reasoning is.

It is perfectly fine, your receiver will be lucky to actually put out 40 watts of true wattage even though it is rated at 110 watts per channel, so you will be just fine. Go ahead and get th speakers if you want them.

I'm starting to build one of these http://billfitzmaurice.net/THT.html Seemed like a design that is a little more trouble since it is not simply a box with a port but instead a folded horn. I have done a ton of reading and no one using them ever goes back to a simple ported design. The efficiency is stellar.
Could you just use something like this , under the Sub ?
He's trying to couple the sub to the floor by using spikes, not isolate it from the floor which is what the mat you posted would try to achieve.
Thanks superedge88 for your fix. I was getting ready to trash my sub 10. But, I stumbled across your fix and followed your instructions exactly. It worked! My sub 10 is not under warranty. So, I had nothing to loose.
LOL!! That is great to hear! Good to know that I could help.
