• Any Academy Centers out there?

Still in search of one of these puppies. I would much rather purchase one of these from you guys compared to EBay repo guys. Any leads would be greatly appreciated! P.S. As long as it sounds 'like new' the looks really don't matter too much to me, after all its dark by my theater!

Currently I have a surround setup, nothing really spectacular but it still sounds nice on movies. I noticed with the current amp I have, Sony, the 2 channel setting on the amp pushes the fortes better than any of the music settings. During movies I flick on an A.F.D Setting for movie. Then for music it just stays on the 2 channel setting. • marantz 1070

The newbie is back with another question... Would the above amp provide crisp, clear and powerful sound to my Forte II's? I keep hearing that Forte II's are very efficient, and could be sufficiently pushed by 30W or less. Can someone 'walk' me through how this would be possible? I think its just with me seeing 150W per channel on these new amps that is getting me a bit confused. If the Marantz 1070 wouldn't fill these Fortes to their maximum potential...please let me know what

  • NAD 2200 Amp

Anyone have anything negative about this amp? Been looking into snagging one, also would it be able to push 4 Forte II? Still a newbie to the stereo items, what pre-amp would you suggest if I can get my paws on a 2200 amp?
An Academy is the "best" if you're limited on space and need what would be considered a traditional center speaker as far as size. The best center would be another Forte, then a Quartet, then an Academy. So does that mean you have two pairs of Fortes now? If you have the space to use one as a center speaker, there would be many people on here willing to buy a single one to use as a center speaker as well.
Yes, I currently have two sets of Fortes'

These have a OO on the back sticker! Just got these guys from a local seller for quite a steal, 300$. They are my newest edition to my family. Would you guys recomend an academy for a center, or is there something better?

The stickers no longer exist on the backside of them. I took a peak at those Ebay ones, did he just re-list the one ad twice? Perhaps this will help you guys on on identifying them...

  • Looking for an 'Academy' center channel speaker

Still basically a newbie in the home theater department, but did a bit of research and the specs on this speaker look mighty impressive. Any idea of where I could acquire one? The color scheme that I would prefer....I think its Oak. Please see picture of my current Forte II for a reference.
