If you are a rocker I would look at 7591, 6L6, KT88 or similar if you have a large room. 5 watts may not do it for me but only in a 10 x 10 room or maybe a little larger. Good luck! TUBES RULE!
In one of life's donk moments, plan on spending twice what you buy a tube amp to get it up and running properly. If you go cheap initially, you probably will end up spending more than if you buy a restored, working unit. A unit restored by Craig - NOSValves - is the gold standard in many tube circles. There are a couple other one man shops that are also quite good. The Scotts, Fishers, Pilot, Sherwood and Heathkit lines all offer good to great models for folks

I would also do the Hereseys with the HK. A Chorus II or Forte II with fresh network capacitors will give a pair of Cornwalls a run for their money.
Very nice amp! So what are you replacing it with? Most of us (except Dean and JoeSportster of course) give at least a year before losing money on audio gear. In any case, good luck. I have two NOSValve'd Scotts so I know how great they sound.
I do not think I would really know what a compoent sounded like in only a couple of months. of listening. I sometimes regret selling my Scott LK-48 (NOS Valves); but it wnet to a good home in Florida. [:'(] I
Price drop to $800. I need to move this - need the $$$. Make a reasonable offer, and I just might bite.
Mike; What did you replace it with in your system?

You might not get the chest-thumping bass slam that KLF-30s are known for unless you go to high power SS,
Maybe. Try an Audio Research VSi55 integrated tube amp. This little baby will curl your toes with it's bass punch...
Looks like a integrated version of a VRD knock off to me. Should have significant bass weight. ;)

One of these years I am going to load NOS Valves , VRDs and Franken Scalas in the big van and participate in the show. It will have to wait until the economy in Michigan gets a bit better. Sounds like a cool show.
