there was a time, when PayPal started delaying MY payments (NOT by 21 days however). It turned out, that the Credit Card associated with my account had expired (even though the Bank Account was valid and source of funds). You just might want to check. As soon as I "fixed" the issue, payments went though ASAP once again. Just my .02

the k-61-k squawker DEFINED the (Quartet/Forte II/Chorus II) series; it is different from (that of) the Cornwalls. I know as many people that prefer it over the more traditional Heritage series, as those who don't. Comparing Forte's and Forte IIs (BOTH great sounding), I felt the original Fortes were more forgiving, but with great source recordings, the IIs edged ahead. The Chorus is a big speaker and can nicely fill more space. I also like the tweeter being up higher, but at least for me
The only way to get a good timbre match with a Forte is to use the same tweeter and squawker, You will need more than just the tweeter and squawker. You give up too much frequency response eliminating the woofer. Use the Forte crossover...
right ... I replaced the Quartet's tweeter and crossover with that of a Forte II ... keeping the original woofer/drone. I had a cabinet maker construct a new motor board tipping the horns 90 degrees (so that I could

a C7 is a good match (been there, done that), but it WON"T end your search for its replacement

the problem is the "High Gloss" ... for years I could NEVER find can spray lacquer in anything else. Then I came across Plasti-Kote Classic Lacquer Satin Black #350 (at an Auto Parts Store)... which really isn't too bad, but IMO still not as close of a match as Rustoluem Satin Black #7777 (which is NOT lacquer, doesn't like humidity, and takes forever to dry between coats... ). The one thing I did learn, is buy one of these: http://yankeebelle.wordpress.com/2008/02/02/saving-my

If my memory serves me, the Forte (K23-K/3mh/47uf) and the Forte II (K25-K/2.75mh/110uf) values for the low pass which both used 4 ohm drivers... the ~2.5mh is close enuff for government work.
On my Denon, direct mode is still stereo sound with the sub but no processing of the signal to the speakers so there is not bass or treble adjustment. ... I think improving my pre amp should be a first step but I also should consider upgrade on the DVD. I believe I have things setup right now to use the DACs in the receiver with better results. I know I need to make some changes but I think that pre amp is hurting me the most right now.
You are on the right

If you are in no hurry, they show up on ebay every once in a blue moon. They are most often NOT listed as for the K-61 however ... watch for "K-52/3/7" replacements. ( I too, have one sitting here ... you know, just in case! )

Call Klipsch, but I am sure they ARE ... they are the same as the K-52/3/7 drivers ... but I don't have a part # Sorry But why do you ask? Do you know it is burned out? If you examine it, you will see that the (red) coil wires are wraped around the silver tinned leads. I had one 'go bad' that only needed a little gentle tender care. If the coil is that nice red/orange color I doubt if anything is wrong OTHER than corrosion has built up where the coil wire and leads are attached. Gentle
