Are you sure that the TV has digital pass-thru? My Samsung has "digital passthrough" but all it passes is two-channel audio. As far as your concern about switching if you decide to "split" the video and audio signals-- that problem is easily solved with a Harmony remote. Edit: Looking on AVS forum, I found this post: Which reminds me -- ONE PROBLEM with this TV. For some stupid reason, the optical digital out on the TV will output in stereo only when viewing an HDMI source. Panny

[/quote] Whether or not it supports hardware acceleration is one thing, so your processor isn't doing all the work. A good graphics card that can do hardware decoding is a night and day difference. Playback is a lot smoother, and less taxing to your system. Keeps overall temps down as well. Also, being HDCP compliant is a huge plus, if your monitor is also HDCP

Sons of Anarchy is probably my favorite show. It's the one I look forward to most, anyway. I've converted a couple people, but I am constantly recommending it. I am really exited about the new season. First episode started off with a bang (several bangs, actually, and in more than one connotation). I don't know what kind of musical experience Ellen will bring to the table, though, and I wonder if she will be too nice to the contestants? We'll see, but I look forward to the new season.
