I might be interested in your computer and have a number of tube amps we could work something out on. Give me a call 810-287-6135

No worries guys that was Scott Radio corparation gear not even Stereo. Completely different company then HH Scott Stereo Hi Fi fame. It is worth way more then $40 to a radio collector though.

The difference between a Merlin, Peach and BBX of the same lineage is all power supply... The Hi Z mode on the peach is for all intensive purposes identical to the line stage of the BBX...there maybe be a small difference in the value of the output coupling cap. All the Juicy Music products run the perspective 6DJ8 or 6H30 electrically the same.... some are just getting a bit better electricity from a beefier power supply then the others. This is why a merlin can out perform and BBX's line stage

Both very nice pieces and should stay together.... The HF85 if memory serves me correctly is stuffed with originals Mullards... The tubes alone are worth a pretty penny in that preamp. I believe the caps in the preamp are Jenson PIO's they would set someone back about $150 alone. Very fair price.

Josh, Do you still own the Merlin? If so you should send it on over. I have some mods I've done to a few Merlin's that resulted in the owners selling there BBX's and Peaches... The little cute bugger really respond to some upgrades. Craig

I'd suggest posting the same request over at Audio Karma's Sansui forum. http://audiokarma.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=39

Bruce, The current version of my amps have no circuit boards in them for the very reason you mention. I switched a point to point turret board in place of the small circuit board. Even with the originals that used one small circuit board the chance of a failure on the circuit board is very slim.. It's just not an area where failure is common. Fixing a VRD's is and always will be very easy. Any Technician or DIY'er with reasonable electronic skills could easily figure it all out. Craig

IMHO VRD'S, Pcat and BBX's are never going to gain value like something as rare as a pristine pair of Marantz Model 2's... Different era and different circumstances surround these items... The same can be said for some McIntosh pieces.. Mark and I are very small cottage industry type companies.. Marantz and McIntosh were and still are legendary. With that said gear from Mark and I retain there value much better then most currently made tube and SS gear. I'm sure after we are dead
