Yes, there is certainly interest--I'm interested. The Patrician's were an adaptation of the Klipschorn and are highly regarded. I would not refer to them as "EV Patrician 800 speakers" though, but as "homebuilt Patrician 800 speakers with EV drivers" or something similiar. There are EV experts who will weigh in on this, but the value of replicas will vary based on the quality of the work. I think they will always be worth considerably less than factory built. Condition
Seems like a fair markup, he did take alot of pictures.
Not only that, Brac! The description states: "We cleaned all the cabinets and drivers, as well as vacuuming the grill cloths and tightening all the internal screws." That ought to be worth a couple grand right there...

Just to clarify a few things: Birch plywood has a "real wood" outer veneer, it's just not a "fancy" real wood veneer. This plywood was originally intended for critcal structural applications, not typically for fine furniture. The original LaScalas were designed as utility speakers and virtually all of them were made with birch plywood (raw or painted black) rather than fancy veneers. After the speaker became somewhat popular for home audio applications, Klipsch made more cosmetic

Chris, Kudos again for passing more cool stuff along. As the prof said, I think the two jensen 10's would be great for a guitar amp. I have a Mesa Blue Angel that is set up for two 10's. It has Celestions in there now and it would be interesting to see what the Jensen's would sound like. I would love to have these and will be in Portland tomorrow and could stop by. I have the drivers, Cobra horn, and crossover from a single University Classic that was stored in a barn and the cabinet

It seems the remotes are often lost--I guess a universal remote could probably be used. I always ask about those things because I think it offers some insight into how careful the seller is with equipment. It's certainly not a deal breaker, but I would look the unit over carefully, making sure there are no missing or burred screws or other signs of abuse. I also look for service stickers to see if there have been reliabilty problems in the past. Hope it works out. I would sell the Pioneer speakers

Bill, I have a R-117 receiver, the next model up. It is a great sounding unit and plays clean at low power so it works great with Klipsch. Does the one you are looking at have the remote, box, and/or manual? I would jump on it if everything is good. Let me know how it works out. triceratops
