Hey Josh, good to hear from you. As far as the Niners go, man I am gettin' too old for this #$%^! Good thing I take blood pressure meds. I know it was a win and am happy about that but man our O is anemic bordering on pathetic and maybe that is being generous. Real tired of them getting themselves into 3rd and long and not being able to convert. Playoffs are a long shot at best me thinks. Oh well, we must remain ever faithful. Also, timely post on your part as I have been thinking of contacting

Hey Big D, I am using the threaded inserts on my clone build and they are ideal. I got some stainless steel ones though as I thought the brass ones from Lowes to be a little soft. That is probably just me though. Here, take a look at McFeely's. http://www.mcfeelys.com/threaded-inserts

Jhoak, When I am doing a refurb, I remove the old labels with a razor blade and heat gun. I scan them into the computer and restore them. I print the edited version onto glossy adhesive backed paper and trim to size. You would never know they were not brand new factory labels. Just my .02

Side to side. Lay the grain in a continuous run up one side to the top then on down the other side. Align the grain to match from one piece to the next(two joints).

Don't give up so easy amigo, it's not that difficult. If you only have one halfway decent label, use it to create the two new ones. You should only have to change one number in the serial. You are going to bring the rest back to life with whatever editing program you are using. In your other thread on veneering you said you suffered from OCD. If you are not willing to spend 2 to 3 days on a set of labels for the perfect restore like I did on my last set of labels for some '67 Khorns,

I added to/edited the post above with an additional thought BigD. I think you read it before the edit.

You won't need to lock them in with any adhesive BigD. You use the suggested drill bit size for the insert and they go in TIGHT. Truly a perfect fastener for this application. Just thought of something BigD. You won't be able to fit your drill into the woofer chamber with a drill guide attached so you will be drilling free hand and the holes really need to be as straight into the wood as possible for the correct installation and use of the inserts. Just something to be aware of.

From a veneering perspective, the Khorn is obviously a different animal cabinet wise from the other models Larry. The top should be layed front to back because it has a vertical front panel. With no veneered sides, this is the only aesthetically correct way to veneer a Khorn imho. Not the case when you have two sides adjoining a top. Look at all of Greg's beautiful work on different models and you will see what I mean. La Scalas, Cornwalls and Belles are continuous grain side/top/side Khorns
