  • One channel out in ProMedia 4.1

My system has been working great untill recently when I was moving some things around I noticed no sound coming from one of the speakers. I checked if it was the speaker itself by interchanging it with other speakers. All speakers proved operational. Tried switching wires around.m All wires proved functional...

  • subwoofer rumbling

Recently, my friend and I decided to upgrade my 5-year-old promedia 4.1 system. Mind you that when I bought this system, I bought it refurbished. I bought 16 gauge speaker wire to replace the 18?20? guage speaker wire on the orginal system. I cut approximately 4 inches below each speaker wire's jack...

  • Old Klipsch ProMedia v2-400's subwoofer acting weird.

Hello! For some reason, I get too much bass or too little even though I haven't touched the computer's volume mixer (Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS) and speaker volume controls. With very little bass, I noticed if I turn my subwoofer from its lowest setting a little higher, then I feel a...

  • Re: Promedia 4.1 sub died. Looking to replace scorched resistors

Update: The two burnt resistors are in positions R12 and R26. These are fairly well-known resistors-o-death from what I am picking up. The grey resistor was the R12 one. Can anyone tell me what I need to buy exactly for R12 and R26? R26 looks to be so badly scorched that I can not easily distinguish...

  • Promedia 4.1's down

I'm really bummed out right now, I just got home from classes and my speakers don't seem to be working. I have a set of Klipsch Promedia 4.1, that I bought second hand and they have worked fine, until now. I'm not really sure what happened, but I think it is something to do with a power surge that recently...

  • Klipsch ProMedia 4.1 Control Pod

I bought the Promedia 4.1 speakers back in 2002 and they were going great until 2008 when the speakers died. When I opened the control pod and inspected the circuit board, there were four capacitors (or resistors, I'm not sure which) that were burnt. My speakers appear to be in perfect working condition...

  • Dead 4.1 (no power)

No power to the sub. Light does not go on. Opened the control pod and sub but didn't find anything unusual. No burnt smell. Replaced fuse but nothing. 1. Is the DIN plug the problem? 2. Where can I find a professional to fix it? (SF Bay Area)

  • Use Klipsch 4.1 Speakers for Home Theater

I am making a home theater system on a very tight budget and I am wondering if there is any reason I shouldn't use the speakers that came with my (now dead) Klipsch 4.1 system as satelites?
