Can one use Heresy II midranges in a set of Heresy I's? Would they be compatable? What would they do to (or for) the sound? I do not think it would be that hard to make a plate if necessary to allow the Heresy II midranges to be mounted in the Heresy I cabinets, should that be necessary. I know that...

  • Re: Has anybody ever added a Super Tweeter to their Klipsch speakers?

With the new titanium drivers in the HIII's I have no need for super tweeters, I get a real well balanced, abundance of high frequency information. Recently I inherited a pair of 1962 kHorns, they too have a sparkling high end. Geez, I like these speakers...

  • Re: Am I a dark hearted traitor

James, mom thinks the RF/C-52 stuff is "attractive", her way of saying "not much". The HIII's are awesome and my lilscala project is on hold for a bit, as I have software issues to work out. The real bottom line is that the GF loves the RF/C-52 stuff, she has both her tv and music...

  • Re: Heresy II owners needed!!!!

Mike, the more I listen to them, the more I really like them, I'm taking the guts of one of the HII's to make a center channel, does it have to be apx 2.0 cubic feet in volume, my version, a little longer, which puts less psi on the tv almost makes sense, but it is slightly larger in terms of...

  • Re: Heresy II owners needed!!!!

It was fun talking to Mark (Klipsch maven and Engineer) and corresponding with Mike. Mike has a valid point. If my input cups were cut low, that would explain the wiring snafu. All in all, this has been a really good experience, the Klipsch team responded with due alacrity. Of course it was Mike that...

  • Re: Heresy II to Heresy III

Nope, the sound quality is totally Klipsch and bloody awesome. I spoke to some of the Klipsh personnel today, and told them what I had done, so the instructions to install may change a little as a result. Turns out the magnet on the new tweeter is 3x the size of the old one, so making the hole larger...

  • Heresy II to Heresy III

Ok, I did it, one pair of my heresy II's (year 2000) has been converted to H III's, few things I noticed. 1. Mount the new crossover upside down so you get more cable to each speaker. 2. Yep the HIII's have more bass, yep they are more efficient and because they are new drivers, the will...

  • Sadness and Optimism

Well, tomorrow I am selling my 85 HII's with BEC networks, they sound great and the black ash veneer has faired ok, but they still sparkle. I have been told that the HII conversion kit for my other H II's is coming Monday and yet I feel a loss, of a great, sparkling beauties. My other H II's...

When I was in college I got to see The Ramones perform in Roslyn, NY. As a young Ensign stationed at Little Creek I got to see the following band: Iron Cross (multiple times) Iggy and the Stooges Cro Mags The Dictators Patti Smith New York Dolls The Dead Boys Lou Reed Unatural Axe The Angry Samoans I...

  • Re: Heresy IIs are just terrific

Y'all win, I'm ordering the kit tomorrow, my H II's have the correct input cup, they are relatively new (2000) and beautiful, totally worth it. My older pair will have to just suffer with the BEC crossovers. Too bad I can't just order them through the website tonight.
