  • Promedia 5.1 to Yamaha RX-563 Receiver

Greetings All, This is my first time posting here and I am doing so because I am having some troubles. I have had a Promedia Ultra 5.1 system for the past 5 years now and have only used it with my laptop(with a creative sound blaster audigy external card). I now am out of college and am in the process...

  • RB-61 or RB-81 with Promedia 5.1 Ultra as 2.1?

Alright, I wasn't exactly sure where to post this, but I love my Promedia 5.1 Ultras and I want to move up the line in Klipsch speakers. Since lately I've not had an area fit for a 5.1 setup, I was thinking of just using two bookshelf speakers with the PMU sub and leaving it at 2.1. Now, I'm...

  • Fixed my ProMedia 5.1 Ultras

Hey there, just wanted to share my experience with my ProMedia 5.1 Ultras. Purchased back in 2004, they started making a horrible squealing noise a few weeks ago. A little research on this site pointed me to one of the BASH chips. I wiggled it around and sure enough the sound would come back, but only...

  • Re: No sound. Any ideas?

You may try to pull the back plate off the woofer and check the fuse on the power supply PCB. You can also check to see if you have any hot spots or burned areas on any of the PCBs. If all seems well, then check the sound of the on/off solenoids when you turn the control unit on/off. If all else fails...

It sounds like I am having the same problem as the other posters. My 5.1 system is 18 months old and one day it stopped working. I am able to listen with the headphones setting but no sound comes from the speaker system. Do I have to assume that I need a new system, or are there more tests I can perform...

  • Re: ProMedia Ultra 5.1 completely dead

Five minutes after posting this complaint I got a note from Elliot saying he was sending my amp today and provided a tracking number. I've edited out the details and will report back on repair after I receive it. I also had a failing Promedia Ultra 5.1 sub and based on recommendations in this message...

  • Terrible customer service Promedia Ultra 5.1

This complaint is twofold. My subwoofer died last February, but after contacting Klipsch support they told me that my control pod had failed. I ordered a new one through their site, and this still did not resolve the problem. I informed them of this and did some research on my own, and found out that...

  • Promedia ultra 5.1 making noises

I believe the amp or subwoofer or possibly control pod on my promedia 5.1 ultras is starting to break. My system has been in use for only 2 years. What I hear coming from the speakers is something that sounds like a person shaking a metal bracelet or metal necklace. In fact, the first time I heard it...
