  • Promedia 2.1 Amp

I bought a 2 year old system off of someone for $50 and everything was working. A couple days later, I hooked it up and the left speaker didnt work, I suspected wiring so I switched the wires and checked and now neither speaker works. Looking at a couple of options I opened the sub and found a blown...

  • Re: promedia ultra 2.0: sometimes no sound

I had a similar experience with my ProMedia Ultra 2.0 Computer Speakers, which I purchased at an Apple store in May. They were brilliant for about four months of low usage, and I never played them loudly. Then I began experiencing popping, crackling, unsteady volume levels, and alternating speaker failure...

  • Extremely hot ProMedia 4.1 Sub

Hello, I woke up one morning to a loud buzzing sound. I checked my speakers and the buzz was coming from each speaker. I couldn't tell what set it off so I unplugged the speakers so I could check it out the next day. Well I noticed that my sub gets extremely hot, almost to the point of being a fire...

  • Re: Promedia 4.1 sub died. Looking to replace scorched resistors

Update: The two burnt resistors are in positions R12 and R26. These are fairly well-known resistors-o-death from what I am picking up. The grey resistor was the R12 one. Can anyone tell me what I need to buy exactly for R12 and R26? R26 looks to be so badly scorched that I can not easily distinguish...

Came home to a loud *** scratching / white noise after work today. My speakers are tweekin out man! Makes the noise, even with all the plugs (sans power to the wall and speakers to sub module) unplugged (rca's and din plug removed). Hello, I've had my Promedia 4.1 system for about 6 years now and love it, although I am now seeing the following issue occur. • Can speaker in ProMedia 2.1 subwoofer cabinet be replaced?

The black rubber parts of the speaker have deteriorated, and the speaker buzzes even at low volumes. I opened up the subwoofer, but it seems the speaker is actually glued in place. Has anyone tried to remove and then replace the subwoofer speaker? Any other recommendations? Thanks, Pete
