    what's up gang, Well First off i created this thread gather many people that own a promedia 5.1 as possible. Reason why i want to do this, is because i want everybody to share their thoughts and techique on how to fix these SUB problem everyone to seem to be having which are the BASH chip and etc...

  • Promedia 5.1 busted... pls help.

    All of a sudden they went out with a funny noise. Now I can turn them on and off, the numbers on the volume move but I only get a whistle out of them which doesn't get louder or lower with volume settings... the high pitch whistle also seems to pulsate and if I wait several seconds there is a different...

    Update: The two burnt resistors are in positions R12 and R26. These are fairly well-known resistors-o-death from what I am picking up. The grey resistor was the R12 one. Can anyone tell me what I need to buy exactly for R12 and R26? R26 looks to be so badly scorched that I can not easily distinguish...

    I'm really bummed out right now, I just got home from classes and my speakers don't seem to be working. I have a set of Klipsch Promedia 4.1, that I bought second hand and they have worked fine, until now. I'm not really sure what happened, but I think it is something to do with a power surge that recently...

  • Dead 4.1's! White noise from satillites, even with pre-amp plug un-plugged. Were do I start?

    Came home to a loud *** scratching / white noise after work today. My speakers are tweekin out man! Makes the noise, even with all the plugs (sans power to the wall and speakers to sub module) unplugged (rca's and din plug removed). It's predominately out of the left front speaker, and fades if I swap...

  • PM 4.1 Replacement Parts

    I've got a set of PM 4.1's where the Pre-Amp is fried. Does anyone know where I might be able to get a replacement Pre-Amp? I checked the Online Store for Klipsch but they only seem to have the 2.1 Module. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -Dennis Cherney

  • Klipsch 4.1 power board

    hello all, does anyone know the values of the metal oxide varister on the main power board? mine is burnt out, but was able to still read the numbers on it. they are "13S100L7FE" , but can't seem to cross-ref. it on Digi-Key or NTE. thanks in advance, CB

  • Promedia 4.1 (EU) dead, help needed

    Hey guys, My 5 year old Promedia 4.1 died a few months ago and after contacting Klipsch service I sent it in to the "official" German repair center, only to have them tell me that the power supply seems to be dead and the repair cost would be approx. 200 EUR.... So today I opened the sub to take a look...
