  • promedia 5.1 sound delayed, now for a very long time

    The last 6 months my speakers have sometimes failed to turn on. When i switch on the sound with the controller there a click-fss from the sub and then a small popping sound from the speakers and then sound is on.   • Does my promedia ultra 5.1 die?

    i had this set two years ago. I recently experience the problem: Sometimes, it just works fine for all 5 pieces, sound is nice. but most of the time (recently i experience more and more), esp after i restarted the computer, the subwoofer works but the rest 4 have no sound, and experiencing some "hissing"...

    It sounds like I am having the same problem as the other posters. My 5.1 system is 18 months old and one day it stopped working. I am able to listen with the headphones setting but no sound comes from the speaker system. Do I have to assume that I need a new system, or are there more tests I can perform...

    You may try to pull the back plate off the woofer and check the fuse on the power supply PCB. You can also check to see if you have any hot spots or burned areas on any of the PCBs. If all seems well, then check the sound of the on/off solenoids when you turn the control unit on/off. If all else fails...
