Another member (thanks, slideways03) had the same problem as me and contacted Klipsch. Important information others might find useful is as follows: [quoted from an email from slideways03] "They had no doubt that it was the onboard amp that went bad. I now have to ship the plate to them so they...

  • Best way to repair holes in bookshelf speaker box?

I have just upgraded my HT fronts and surrounds from 4 Insignia ns-b2111 bookshelves (those are the ones everyone was buzzing about last year) to a pair of RF-25's and RS-42's. My problem is that I had all four Insignias on stands and, due to their relativley large size, I used screws to attach...

  • Crackling / Popping - Promedia 5.1 Ultra

So I had bought some 3 year old Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Ultras on eBay maybe 2 years and, god, they are great speakers. Now I am saddened because they are getting a bit of crackling on the high points of songs where there is a lot of bass. Also it seems to happen with lo quality sounds, like some loud noises...

  • Re: ProMedia Ultra 5.1 completely dead

Five minutes after posting this complaint I got a note from Elliot saying he was sending my amp today and provided a tracking number. I've edited out the details and will report back on repair after I receive it. I also had a failing Promedia Ultra 5.1 sub and based on recommendations in this message...

  • Klipsch KP-3002 Internal Crossover Repair (HF inop)

Howdy out there; first post here and a question: I just picked up a pair of Klipsch 3002's, and have scoured the forums already for information. The internal crossover in one of them is inoperable, the HF out is non-functioning. [Originally I thought the horn driver was bad and have a replacement...

  • Can speaker in ProMedia 2.1 subwoofer cabinet be replaced?

The black rubber parts of the speaker have deteriorated, and the speaker buzzes even at low volumes. I opened up the subwoofer, but it seems the speaker is actually glued in place. Has anyone tried to remove and then replace the subwoofer speaker? Any other recommendations? Thanks, Pete

  • ProMedia 2.1 fried resistor (I think)

We have had this speaker system in my class for like 4 years now and we finally hooked them up. The volume control knobs work backwards and the satellite speakers play but with low volume (though the knobs are turned completely to "Min"). The subwoofer does not work at all and only a small...

  • Blown Kg3

I bought a pair of new Kg3's at some time in the 1990's. From what I recall they were about $500-$600 a pair. They were matched up with a Carver HR-772 Reciever. I have never been real happy with these speakers. While still under warranty one of the speakers were "blown" or some other...

  • Repainting My New LSIs

Aloha All, Well as some of you might have read from my earlier posting, I nabbed a nice set of 70s vintage LSIs at my son's school rummage sale last week. I scanned this forum and decided to repair the corner damage using the Bondo trick and repaint the speakers black as per original. Since I read...

  • RW 8 Subwoofer Hum

I purchased a mid-90's RW 8 subwoofer and when I got it home it had a hum. The hum begins after the protection circuit goes off and continues until about 10-15 seconds after powe is cut. It does this with or without a receiver or other speakers connected. I suspect the issue is a CAP in the sub,...
