Thanks for the article. I couldn't tell a big difference between the two and I don't know what makes a down-firing better or worse than a front firing so I went by spec and price. I am using it on hardwoods so maybe there would have been more of a difference in a quieter room. Any ideas on placing...

I bought a sub 10 at the end of October and it died a week before Christmas. It would go into standby (Turn red) and when the receiver turned on it would turn blue but would not make a sound. I hooked the RCA going into it up to another speaker with rca input and did a channel test and got a signal....

I own a sub 10 that was damaged when the power was knocked out by an ice storm back in december. I had several other items that were damaged also as the result of a power surge.
