  • Help needed...soon-to-be first time Klipsch owner.

I have a 5.1 Bose single cube surround sound system that I am upgrading. I am really close to pulling the trigger and purchasing a Klipsch Reference Series line of speakers. I don't know much about speakers, audio, or home theater, so this is all very new to me. My knowledge solely consists of what i...

  • sub placement / performance

Hello again, I’ve been reading some of the threads regarding sub placement and just had a few questions I was hoping someone could answer. I have the Synergy sub-10 with the Quintet III package. The sub is placed on the same wall with the front 3 speakers (and TV of course). Because of the layout of...

  • general question - how is the power shared from receiver to sub?

Hello, I have the Quintet III speaker package with the Synergy sub-10 sub-woofer. My receiver is an entry level Harmon Kardon, it doesn't have a lot of power, but I don't necessarily need it. The receiver is rated at 30 wpc X 5 but I believe HK's generally rate much lower than most. I had a 50 wpc H...

  • Quintet III and Sub-10 Synergy setup

Hello, I recently bought the Quintet III series with the sub-10 synergy sub-woofer. I have an entry-level Harmon Kardon receiver (which doesn't have a ton of power or features, but I don't really need them, I have basic hook ups and it's a small room). I am really impressed with the sound, but I am one...

  • setting up a RSW 10-d

I just got a RSW 10d this weekend and could use a little help setting it up. I have a Denon 1906, front speakers are KG 2.5, rears are KG .5 and the center is a SC1 Should I set the speakers at "small" setting or have the fronts set to large? Should I set the sub setting on the receiver at LFE+main or...

  • Dark Hearted Traitor no more

It finally happened, I had a Klipsch breakdown, a crossover died in my Heresy II's, and I had to call Bob Crites and son in for emergency. Pound for pound, when it comes to the bottom line, the Heresy II's do kick the boo-boo out of my RF-52's/RC-52/RW10D. When Bob sends me the new crossovers...

  • Re: Dark Hearted Traitor no more

Total leap of faith once I get the new crossovers from Bob Crites. I don't know if timbre will blend or not...if i doesn't the RC goes on the auction block with the RF-52's the RW-10D will hopefully blend as well... I like the idea and sound of the center channel, but not at the sake of compromising...

  • Re: Two Pair Heresy's, Optimal HT Hookup ?

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I may go with all four on the floor, and I can set up my receiver (Yamaha RX-V661) for all kinds of DSP modes. I have thought of a sub for the heavy lifting. I have also thought of going one HII Center channel, because I can do cinematic DSP modes, but I can set for...

  • Re: Two Pair Heresy's, Optimal HT Hookup ?

Y'all were pretty much on the money, 4 on the floor, and I'll spring for a sub as the Heresy II rolls off at 57 Hz. A fifth Heresy II, not a bad idea, in a 12 x 8 room, it may be a bit much, but hey, this is my penance for trying to get the R*-52 series to do the work of a pair of HII's....
