  • Question about surround speakers for my system.

Be gentle cause I'm a newbie. I have the RC-51 bookshelf speakers for my fronts and the RC-52 for my center. My girlfriend recently purchased for me the Synergy Quintet III system along with the Sub-10 subwoofer for a great price. Was wondering if it would sound ok to keep the quintet speakers and...

  • Re: Two Pair Heresy's, Optimal HT Hookup ?

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I may go with all four on the floor, and I can set up my receiver (Yamaha RX-V661) for all kinds of DSP modes. I have thought of a sub for the heavy lifting. I have also thought of going one HII Center channel, because I can do cinematic DSP modes, but I can set for...

  • Re: DVD AUDIO ANYONE?

sivadselim: As far as the speaker requirements for multichannel music versus movies, the closer all five of your speakers are to being identical the better for multichannel music. Diffusing, surround-specific speakers for the rears are a no-no as the soundtracks were mixed to be played back with direct...

  • Re: Recommendations/Opinions for Klipsch System

Hi Mike, We like to call it playing with "ear cheese". Sounds much more fun than ear wax, but it doesn't make it any more fun. I got to admit I clean my ears more than once a year now. Just a joke... You 07 pilgrims heard this inwall or the THX version KS-7800. Both sound great and are extremely wide...

  • Corner Placement of Surround Speakers

I'm building a 5.1 system around my Synergy KSF 8.5. My question is whether to use matching S-2 surrounds. The only location I have is to wall mount them nearly in the corners of the room directed towards the listener seated against a "back" wall. I am concerned that the design of these...

  • Surrounds for HT to match RF3

I have two RF-3 II mains and an RC-3 Center (plus a KSW-12 sub which I'll upgrade at some point). I need two surrounds to be used for 90% TV/HT. Any music is typically live concert videos. The area I'm installing them is height limited (above a window) so I need to stick with the surrounds that...
